Pierre Robert Family DNA Request

This request below was sent by email to Irisgay. If you would like to respond to this kinsman's request, please post a comment or send me an email and I will give you her contact information. Best wishes, Marie

I had hoped to get to the Apr. meeting, but could not.  If I am still alive in 2013 and able, I will come then.  I now have filled my line, completely documented to John Roberr/Roberts oof Craven County/All Saints Parish/Horry Co. S.C.  The 1790 Census lists him as the only manof that surname in the area so designated as his location of birth and lifelong residence, in the Rev. Pension Papers Application.  In the R.War Idents it is spelled with an "S" and then a correction noted to "no S" , and then the 1800 Census adds the S back, but untill after 1800 he is the only person of that surname.  He states his lifelong residence and land records support the claim.  I recently have been successful in finding a living Male Roberts in Florida, who has his line doculentedly supported back to Raymond Arthue Roberts, son of Capt. Arthur Roberts and secon wife Anne Collins, which Capt Arthus is the Tombstone supportd youngest son oof Zachariah Roberts, of S.C. and Alachua/Columbia Fl.  and  Camden Co. Ga.   Our DNA is a total pefect match. I have recived one possible list for a Zachariah with brothers John David and a fourth I can't recall.  I believe they are thought to be sons of Elias Robert/Roberts, son of Rev. Pierre.  Since I have the pefect match, I am seeking to find any male Robert/Roberts who has a pocitive documented line from Rev. pierre and It seems most likely that the Pierre Line who went to Miss. Al and La. are the most likely.  My ides is also possibly suppoted by the fact of my gr. grandfather Alexander Pinckney Roberts, who migrated to Jacksonville Fl. in 1838-39, was an adjacent neighbor to Elias Gabriel Jaudon, gr. grandson of Elizabeth Robert/Roberts, daughter of Pierre/Peter Roberts and Judith de Bordeaux, who married Samuel, Taylor "Elias" Jaudon.  I think that Alex, a Cooper, was very possibly employed by elias Gabriel, to make Barrels for shipping the produce of his enormous Plantation at Jacksonville, and that they may very likely have been cousin.  One of Elias daughters married a McKlenny and had a so named John Roberts and n Alex's Estate Bills is a payment to Henry Jaudon, Elias don, for payment of slaves hired to work on Alex's forest lands lumbering and possibly also in barrel-making.

If you can find in th asso. any Roberts Male of proven descendancy frm Rev. Pierre, who is willing, I would gladly pay for his DNA yesting up to the 37 marker level.  If he is willing and  proves dna matched then I have my ancestry to first Immigrant and it might open a possible "Elias" Line.  If I do not match, then that means I will save myself time and look for the Immigrant ancestor elsewhere.

Please help me with this.  I really want to keep my promise to my Father and complete this.  At age 85 my time is quickly running out.

Sincerely, Silvia Garrard Roberts Lowrey

2011 Reunion

Thanks to 45 cousins who came to our 7th Robert Reunion from April 7th to 10th in Bunkie, Evergreen, and Moncla. I know that those of you unable to attend were with us in spirit. We missed you!

Cousins came from 6 states and there were several first-timers. They will be wonderful additions to our family and we welcome them.

Our president-elect, Jerrel Chafin, was not in good health at the time of our reunion, so he will continue as president-elect for the next two years. Here are all our officers for the next two years:

President - Marie Hiott McEntire, Franklin, Tennessee
Vice President - Charlotte Roy, Mansura, Lousiana
Secretary - Emily Blakewood Campbell, New Orleans, Louisiana
Treasurer - Ann Hiott Barham, Winson-Salem, North Carolina
Historian/WebMaster - Marie McEntire, our president
Publicity - Irma Catherine Goulas, Bunkie, Louisiana
President Elect - Jerrel Chafin, Lafayette, Louisiana

One of our cousins, Celeta Cook, who faithfully attended most of our reunions, passed away on November 30, 2010. Her daughter, Betty Williams, has been our Vice President at least twice. We extend to her our heartfelt sympathy and apologize for not calling the attention of the family to this at our last meeting. Her mother was a beautiful lady.

The site of the 2013 reunion will be announced by the new president, Marie, at a later date. I can only tell you it will not be Bunkie - Evergreen.

Nous sommes fier de notre heritage. Let's continue to uphold the memory of our forefathers with honor and pride.  http://www.bayourouge.org/Cemetery.htm

Thanks for allowing me to serve,
